Imago Dei: Created, Known, Loved

4 Chapter Study with English and Spanish Scripture Writing and Copywork

Introduction: Identity. The search for it is evident everywhere we look. As the culture spirals further and further into a self-inflicted identity crisis, God’s Word brings peace. You see our questions are, for the most part, as old as time itself:

Where did I come from?
Does my life have purpose?
Is my sexuality important to God?
Am I known to God?
Am I loved—just as I am?
Do male/female differences matter? Do they even exist?
Can I find joy in living out my purpose as a woman?

While it’s true that our culture is absolutely in crisis right now, God’s people do not have to be.

Scripture teaches us that God knows us intimately. He is looking intently at our heart. People are focused on outward appearance, but God shows us a better way in the Bible.

Praise the Lord! God has given us a guidebook that will never pass away, no matter where the winds of culture are blowing. The answers to every question the culture is asking with respect to identity (and every area where there is not freedom in God’s design or instruction) are clearly presented in the Bible. In the next several weeks, we’re going to examine a few aspects of the current search for identity and discover why we can embrace who God made us to be with joy, knowing that He was in every detail of our creation, from our sexuality to that tiny bend in our pinky toe. ☺ God created us and He loves us. Moreover, He knows us. We were created to be known—first by our Creator, and then, in relationship with one another.

Once we grasp these important truths, it changes everything.

I’m excited about this study for many reasons, but mostly because I believe it’s going to help you see yourself the way God sees you—created, known, and loved.

Remember, Moms—you can’t pass on what you don’t possess. This month, let’s learn—and then, pass on the knowledge of who we are in Christ to those that God places in our lives.

Rejoicing in my Maker—and Yours,
Heidi
